EverestNews.com Readers Guide

No hoaxes, sensational reporting or false reports of climbers deaths here. Last year again numerous climbers were reported DEAD by other web sites and news "reporters" when the climbers were NOT DEAD. So when others report on or off the web, recall the past. Such is the state of reporting.

EverestNews.com on the other hand, we know can be overwhelming at first with the amount of information. Many of you are now coming to our site to find Everest 2004. Check the Everest 2004 Navigation bars (above) to make it very easy to check on all the expeditions quickly and easily

Are you a new reader of EverestNews.com or having trouble figuring out how to navigate the site?

EverestNews.com is loaded with tons of current news, facts and information on mountains, expeditions and climbers. The site is updated continuously as news from expeditions comes in. In addition, we have links for books and gear and a comprehensive archive that grows daily. It can be pretty overwhelming at first. But come back often and you’ll quickly figure out how the site works. In the meantime, here are some guidelines to help you along:

Frequent Visitors

For those who want the most current updates of climbing news, expedition coverage and related notes, bookmark the News page at www.everestnews.com/everest3.htm. Check in every day or two for the latest news. The News page is intended to make it easier to stay on top of current and breaking news, rather than making you check every expedition page to learn of the latest status of that particular expedition. The News page is updated at least once a day Monday-Saturday, and sometimes more. In May, News updates are continuous!

How often do we update the News: 24/7. So YES, you might check to see what John Doe is doing and find a new dispatch that is not yet linked on the news page yet. We make the pages 24/7 then link them in to the News page.

Check the Everest 2004 Navigation bars to make it very easy to check on all the expeditions quickly and easily.

Occasional Visitors

Just want to check in every now and then and look for one expedition on one mountain? Go to  www.everestnews.com/everest3.htm and scan the headlines to find the most recent information. At the end of the headlines (in the table) you will find links like:

The rest of the March Headlines are here !!! Did you miss it ?

Headlines 03: Jan03/Feb03/

Headlines 02:Jan/Feb/Mar/Apr/May/June/July/Aug/Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec

these links will take you to the headlines for recent months. You can go back several years here.

Search

"Old" news (e.g., from 6 months or a year ago) can be found by clicking on News Archives. The fastest way to find what you are looking for is to use the Search function (search button located in the top menu bar) and enter a keyword. The site returns links to any pages that feature the keyword in its content.

Do a search on EverestNews.com then look on www.k2news.com. Much of the OLDER archives are on www.k2news.com but always check www.everestnews.com first.

How do we pay for all of this?
